EW BROWN GENERATING STATION

In support of the facilities long term stormwater requirements, WB•Koester was contracted to install a 30-inch HDPE pipe connecting a stormwater basin to an underwater diffuser in Lake Harrington.

  • Installed 1,400 FT of 30-inch HDPE pipe

  • Directional drill 225 FT, 36-inch diameter bore at 25 degrees exiting 60 FT below water surface

  • Three 60-inch HDPE manholes

Prairie State Generating Co. - Power Generation Development

Peabody Energy set out to build a new 1,800 MW coal fired power plant on a greenfield site. WB•Koester preformed the initial site work on the 500 acre facility. Some of the work included – power block area, roadways, berms, ditching, erosion control, large sediment basins, and underground piping.

  • Incorporated 25,360 tons of lime to stabilize 1,165,000 SY of soils 

Eagle Valley - Indianapolis Power and Light

WB•Koester began work on the AESIP&L’s Combined Cycle Gas Turbine in Martinsville, IN around March of 2015. A critical path component of the project involved the installation of the facilities Circulating Water Pipe Systems.

  • Demolition of 3,000 linear FT of railroad siding

  • Excavated over 22,500 CY of soil

  • Excavation for electrical duct banks, large pipe corridors, deep electrical vaults

  • Management of site paving, finish grade, seeding, parking restoration, and fencing  

Columbia Sportswear Distribution Center

Columbia Sportswear set out to build a 500,000 SF distribution center in Henderson County, Kentucky. WB•Koester completed a 350,000 CY cut and fill job in just 45 days to meet the set schedule. Typically, months like September – November are not conducive to productive earthwork but WB•Koester was up to the task!

  • Incorporated 114,000 SY of lime soil stabilization

  • Installed 8,650 feet of firewater line with hydrants

  • Placed over 40,000 tons of aggregates for roads, parking lots and building pads

  • Installed 7,000 feet of storm sewers.
